Journeys in Grace and Truth

Mosaic

Journeys in Grace and Truth was published in just six weeks in Spring 2016 in order to provide a resource for General Synod members ahead of the July Shared Conversations.

Jayne invited 12 senior Anglicans to each contribute a chapter explaining their own journey into how they became accepting of same-sex relationships.  As such it looked to answer the question: “Is it possible to hold a positive view of same-sex relationships while being a biblically rooted evangelical?”

It has received warm endorsements from many bishops – past and present, such as the Rt Revd Rachel Treweek, Bishop of Gloucester, who says:

As someone who is passionate about the importance of listening to different perspectives
in places of intense disagreement, I welcome these honest contributions to the debate about same sex relationships — regardless of whether they disturb or comfort us.  This book invites us to engage prayerfully with the personal stories of fellow followers of Christ; to listen deeply with hearts of love not fear; and to know that God is unchanged whatever our conclusions.”

Over 1500+ copies have now been distributed, and it is increasingly being used by churches as a resource for those who want to discuss where they stand on the issue.

You can purchase a copy at the reduced rate of £7.99 plus P&P here.

Following its press launch on June 16th 2016, which included a video interview with the Bishop of Liverpool – the Rt Revd Paul Bayes – by Ruth Gledhill of Christian Today, it received significant media coverage.

In August 2016 it made the Top Ten Religious Book List in the Church Times.  It was reviewed during the July Synod edition of the Church Times by Dr Adrian Thatcher.
